Who are we?

An archaeologist by education, a merchandiser by trade and a writer at heart, I started this blog a couple of years ago to document the evolution of our family life and home.  We were five years into renovating a hundred year-old house and about to start the kitchen extension.

Since then I’ve developed a deep passion for resourceful decorating and believe that revamping within your means challenges your creative boundaries.  I’m a big fan of a hand-painted wall treatment and I’ll not buy it if I can do it myself.

I get my inspiration from retail fit-outs and commercial spaces like restaurants and gallery installations, then work with my partner-in-decor, the enigma that is Mr 146 to recreate concepts on a small-scale.  Currently training up the Foxy Brother toddlers to get handy with a paint roller.

Here’s you’ll find tips on resourceful decorating and ideas for creative living.
